Storymoji ("we", "our", "the app") is a daily emoji story game. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
Stories you submit. When you write and publish a story, the text you entered is stored in our database so other players can read it. Stories are associated with a randomly generated anonymous ID — not your name or email.
Game Night room activity. When you host or join a Game Night room, your chosen display name and score are stored temporarily in our database. This data is deleted when the room closes.
Local preferences. Progress, your daily "done" status, and display name are stored on your device only (localStorage / NSUserDefaults). We do not transmit these to our servers.
What we do NOT collect
No account registration — no email, phone number, or password is required.
No advertising identifiers (IDFA or similar).
No precise location.
No contacts, photos, or microphone access.
Third-party services
Storymoji uses Firebase Realtime Database (Google) to sync Game Night gameplay and store published stories. Firebase may collect device identifiers and IP addresses as part of normal network operation. See Google's Firebase Privacy Policy for details.
Data retention
Published stories remain in our database indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them. Game Night room data (roster, in-progress state) is deleted automatically when a room closes or within 24 hours of inactivity.
Children
Storymoji is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Stories are anonymous. If you believe a child has submitted identifying information, contact us using the form below.
